Hey!
I'm Gimhani Senarathne. But I preferred to introduce myself as GIMI. Because when I was going to university, my friends started to call me Gimi. When I was in university, I always taught my colleagues. I shared my notes with them. Then one day, one of my friends suggested doing something for the whole society. As a result of that, I founded the "Study with Gimi" Facebook page and YouTube channel.
So first of all, I will share a little bit about my past. I am the oldest daughter in my family. Somehow, my family is not the common type. because my father was not too involved with us. Because of that, my mother plays both roles: father and mother. Actually, I was very close to her. She always guided me to my dreams. But unfortunately, I lost my mother when I was 13 years old.
Then my sister and I became alone. Somehow we got used to managing it under my grandmother's shelter. My father was abroad, and we did not have a very close relationship. After a long time, he came to visit us. That's all. And suddenly, my grandmother also moved away. Somehow, with all these things, I was able to fulfill my mother's dreams and finish my schooling with very good results (in Sri Lanka; O/L 9As and A/L 2As 1B).
After that, I started to go to university. I have done my bachelor's degree in Applied Finance and currently, I am following the ACCA professional qualification, hoping to become a qualified financial analyst one day.
Actually, I started the Study with Gimi FB page because I always believe I need to do something for this world. especially for children who have lost both parents. Sometimes society neglects us. I've experienced it so many times. Because of that, so many children like me give up on their targets, dreams, and lives. So simply, I want to push them to achieve their targets and dreams. I want to assure them that they are the strongest children in this world.
Actually, I believe I have proved it to some extent and am still proving it. So if you are a dreamer who really wants to make your dreams come true, you should join us.
